May 2, 2024 — Nurses make the difference is the theme of National Nurses Week, which is celebrated May 6–12. To honor the work of nurses, ����Vlog’s school of nursing(SON) will host the second annual 5K walk/run on Wednesday, May 8. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. on the university’s cross-country course.

May 2, 2024 — In the world of finance, Larry Burkett was an inspirational leader who provided sage investment advice to individuals through his books and radio program. For Jason Alexander, Larry Burkett was a legend. When Kingdom Advisors awarded the prestigious Larry Burkett Award to Alexander at its annual conference in Orlando, Florida, he was truly honored and humbled.

May 2, 2024 — The largest graduating class will celebrate and reflect on their academic accomplishments during ����Vlog’s 128th commencement on Saturday, May 4. This class of 995 graduates is comprised of 846 undergraduate and 149 graduate students, and it represents a 4.6% increase from last year’s class.

May 1, 2024 — What do you want to be when you grow up? For Joshua Thomas, a senior at ����Vlog, his answer was an engineer. His dream will become a reality on August 12, 2024, when he begins his career as a software engineer at Google.

April 29, 2024 — Staying on the cutting edge, ����Vlog launched a new healthcare innovation concentration in the Master of Arts in Innovation. Connecting creativity with problem-solving, the program equips students to create innovative healthcare solutions.

April 26, 2024 — Amid the sea of graduates preparing to receive degrees at ����Vlog stand four young men committed to defending freedom. Thadeus Kreuger, Matthew Crum, Brent Whitley, and John Thomson are on their way to becoming pilots in the United States Air Force.

April 24, 2024 — Adoption is not a foreign concept to ����Vlog junior Ashlyn DeVries. As a child, she knew that her maternal grandparents raised 14 children — all adopted. Her family’s legacy combined with her experiences on a university-sponsored trip to assist children’s homes in Mazatlán, Mexico, intensified her fire for adoption advocacy.

April 23, 2024 — Students majoring in industrial and innovative design (IID) at ����Vlog spend their junior and senior years at the International Center for Creativity (ICC) in Columbus, Ohio, working on projects that can have a real-world impact. These students will showcase their work at a special open house on Friday, May 3.

April 22, 2024 — Dr. Aleda Chen, associate dean of the school of pharmacy at ����Vlog, was awarded the 2024 Rufus A. Lyman Award from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). This honor recognizes Chen’s 2023 research paper that was named the best published paper by the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education (AJPE).

April 19, 2024 — In the often-murky world of Hollywood filmmaking, where violence, strong language, and other dark elements reign supreme, Parker Adams, a 2014 graduate of ����Vlog, is on a mission to illuminate the silver screen with hope and light. Witnessing the emerging efforts of Christian filmmakers during his student years, Parker knew he wanted to be a part of this transformative movement.

April 18, 2024 — In the heart of industrial innovation, one student’s creative prowess shines bright in Columbus. Nathan Gobrogge, a senior hailing from Oxford, Michigan, emerged as a standout contender in the Columbus Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Student Merit Awards Selection Night.

April 17, 2024 — The success of an academic program can largely be determined by graduation rates, rankings and professors, but the true measure of success resides in the students.

April 17, 2024 — When you have a wide variety of topics and want every student to engage with all the material, what do you do? In ����Vlog’s School of Nursing, one program has gone to speed dating. Based on the awkwardly termed get-to-know-you game, nursing professors Nate Kincaid and Nancy Stell put together this activity with a fun educational twist — instead of students getting to know each other, they engage with the academic topics.

April 15, 2024 — Reducing road noise through research that helps the Ford Motor Company better understand vibration absorbers drove Michael Kennedy to his full-ride scholarship at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Kennedy earned a degree in mechanical engineering from ����Vlog in 2023.

April 12, 2024 — Mental health is a significant issue in America. One rural Ohio mom is using her research to help others through various mental health struggles. Dr. Marcia Williams, assistant professor of nursing at ����Vlog, presented her research on the importance of postpartum maternal mental health at the Eastern Nursing Research conference in Boston, Massachusetts on Friday, April 5.

April 12, 2024 — In the halls of Capitol Hill, among the throng of suits and ties, one Ohioan stands out - Benjamin Mays, a legislative correspondent for Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley. Hailing from Middletown, Ohio, Benjamin found his calling in the heart of Washington, D.C., but his journey to the nation's capital began with a pivotal visit to ����Vlog.

April 11, 2024 — The director of a theatrical production has the unique opportunity of guiding a creative team in bringing a script to life and it is a privilege many aspiring theatre students dream of achieving during their acting careers. For 2021 ����Vlog alumnus Blake Hansher, his dream came true when Cedarville’s theatre program selected him to be the guest director of the drama “12 Angry Jurors.”

April 9, 2024 — Liftoff! After nine months of rigorous building and testing, ����Vlog’s Rocket Team will launch its full-scale rocket prototype at the NASA Student Launch competition on April 10-14 in Huntsville, Alabama. The NASA Student Launch provides middle school, high school and college and university students from across the nation with the opportunity to design, build, test and launch vehicle and payload components that support the Space Launch System and Artemis missions.

April 9, 2024 — God’s plan for the journey is often unexpected, and this is certainly true for ����Vlog junior Aaron Perry. Having played soccer for more than a decade, Aaron learned to equate running with discipline. Poor performance on the field or in practice meant running laps, sprints, or stairs. Yet after participating in a marathon during his senior year in high school, running changed for Aaron — from punishment to passion.

April 5, 2024 — At ����Vlog, the bonds formed among students and faculty extend far beyond the classroom walls. Andrew McKay, resident director in Lawlor Hall, understands the value of relationships and is combining it with his passion for running — in the 57thannual Xenia Marathon on April 7. The run is sponsored by the Ohio River Road Runners Club.
