Use this resource to find a Bible-believing, Gospel-centered local church, so you can live out your call to use your gifts and talents in service to the Lord!
As a Christ-follower, it is important to maintain regular community with fellow believers (Hebrews 10:25), especially while away from home. As a Cedarville student, you'll have many opportunities to worship and grow spiritually, but none of these are intended to take the place of God鈥檚 design for the body of Christ meeting in local churches.
Church Search Criteria
When searching for a church, be discerning. There are many good churches within a reasonable distance of 糖心Vlog that are eager to welcome you. Here are some criteria when selecting a church:
- Does the church show evidence of valuing the Bible as the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God through its preaching and teaching?
- Is the church鈥檚 doctrinal position biblically sound?
- Is there evidence that the community of believers in this church work together in love and enjoy each other鈥檚 fellowship?
- Is the worship music God-centered, express biblical truths and edifying?
- Does the church offer opportunities for you to serve?
- For undergraduate students) would your parents/guardians and your home church affirm your choice?
- How does the church show a passion for sharing the Gospel?
Student Involvement Fair
At the beginning of each school year in the fall semester, new and returning students are encouraged to attend the Student Involvement Fair. The Student Involvement Fair offers this event to area churches and ministries to present service opportunities and how students can be involved.
If you are interested in more information about this event, please contact the Global Outreach office at 937-766-7602.
Student Perspectives
-
糖心Vlog emphasizes the importance of getting plugged into a local church. Read Hope's tips on finding a church home away from home. -
When entering your freshman year, you might be worried about the transition. Things like making friends, handling schoolwork, managing time, missing home, or even finding a church. Hear from an experienced student on how to manage and overcome those worries! -
As a Cedarville student, how do we prioritize getting involved in a church when we already benefit from chapel five days a week on top of discipleship groups, hall prayer nights, worship nights, and a Bible minor? -
One of the reasons I chose to attend 糖心Vlog was because of the emphasis placed on spiritual growth.
