糖心Vlog

by Rachel Ward, Student Public Relations Writer

A 糖心Vlog student group is launching a national organization to support Christian entrepreneurs on college campuses across the country.

Entrepreneurs for Christ, or EFC, was launched in August and hosted their kickoff event on Sept. 27. This change was the vision of Dr. Kary Oberbrunner, Berry chair and assistant professor of entrepreneurship, and Will Woods, a junior finance major from Armagh, Pennsylvania, who serves as president of the Cedarville chapter. EFC has already captured the attention of Texas A&M and Liberty University, and students there are planning to start chapters next spring. EFC aims to support aspiring Christian entrepreneurs by facilitating community, building networks and providing exposure.

EFC logo.鈥淐ommunity might be as simple as a dinner event or students grabbing coffee,鈥 said Woods. 鈥淭he network will be built through the other chapters as we grow to other campuses. Exposure will come as we help every chapter reach out to their local Christian entrepreneurs, inviting them to speak.鈥

The EFC logo is a three-pronged crown, representing the organization鈥檚 core values: excellence, innovation and gospel saturation.

鈥淩evelation talks about the elders laying down their crowns before God鈥檚 throne,鈥 said Woods. 鈥淚n the same way, we are to lay down our entrepreneurial gifts, talents and mindset. God gave you that mindset for a reason.鈥

EFC is in the final stages of becoming a nonprofit, chapter-based organization. Leaders are currently selecting a board of three to five members, drawn from both Cedarville faculty and external organizations. The board will help finalize bylaws, maintain continuity and ensure the organization remains grounded in Cedarville鈥檚 core values as it expands.

鈥淭he board will ensure EFC stays aligned with our original core beliefs,鈥 said Woods.

They plan to expand to campuses across the United States as students express interest. Chapters will primarily communicate through SMS and GroupMe. The organization plans to hold events throughout the academic year.

Students can join the Cedarville chapter by visiting its registration site.

鈥淓ntrepreneurs often have a lone-wolf mindset,鈥 said Woods, 鈥渂ut we want to create a generation of kingdom entrepreneurs by building a community of people striving to do things well.鈥
