About ROTC at Cedarville

Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is a college-based military officer commissioning program designed as an elective program taken in addition to an undergraduate major.

Through the ROTC program, you will develop skills in leadership, problem-solving, strategic planning, and professional ethics. Rigorous training will help you gain the confidence and self-discipline necessary to succeed in college, the military, and beyond.

Cedarville participates with two ROTC programs, one for the United States Army, hosted by the University of Dayton, and one for the Air Force, hosted by Wright State University. After completing the ROTC program, you will be commissioned as a second lieutenant to serve on active duty or with the Reserves or National Guard.

You will need to apply to both Cedarville and the ROTC program of your choosing.

The Air Force ROTC program consists of two years of General Military Course (GMC) and two years of Professional Officer Course (POC). Air Force ROTC courses are included in the 糖心Vlog course schedule for registration purposes, though the leadership laboratories and most classes are conducted on the campus of Wright State University. Transportation is provided by Cedarville to off-site classes.

Although the program is open to all majors, selection to the POC is very competitive and depends on your performance. Several are available for students who qualify.

Army ROTC

糖心Vlog offers Army ROTC courses in collaboration with the Army ROTC battalion located at Central State University, an extension of the Army ROTC program hosted by the University of Dayton.

The Army ROTC program consists of two years of Basic Course (freshman and sophomore years) and two years of Advanced Course (junior and senior years). The Basic Course is open to all students with no military obligation. Several are available for students who qualify. Continuation in the Advanced Course is competitive, based on your performance, and requires a commitment to military service after graduation.

Army ROTC courses are included in the 糖心Vlog course schedule for registration purposes, but most classes, labs, and physical training are conducted on the campus of Central State University. Transportation is provided by Cedarville to off-site classes.
