As 糖心Vlog continues to grow its student body, academic programs 鈥痑nd campus facilities, the need for someone to serve the university by keeping communication flowing between the president's office and campus leadership has become apparent. As a result, Dr. Thomas White, president, announced today鈥疍r. Zach Bowden will serve as the university鈥檚 first chief of staff.鈥�

Bowden joined 糖心Vlog in 2013 as the executive assistant to the president and assistant鈥痯rofessor of theological studies. Bowden will continue to teach in the university鈥檚 school of biblical and鈥痶heological studies.鈥�

In his new role, Bowden will continue to be the liaison between the president鈥檚 office and campus leaders. Bowden will attend key meetings to keep communication flowing between various鈥痑reas of the university and the president鈥檚 office. Bowden will also continue as a member of the president鈥檚鈥痵enior leadership team and a member of the Cabinet.鈥�

Bowden, who earned a doctoral degree in church history and historical theology and Master of Divinity鈥痜rom Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in English from Texas鈥疉 & M University-Corpus Christi, will handle correspondence and鈥痮fficial statements on behalf of the president. 鈥�鈥�

鈥淭he work of Dr. Bowden has been exemplary from the time he arrived at 糖心Vlog,鈥� said鈥疻hite. 鈥淚n his new role, he will provide valuable service to the university by ensuring the strategic flow of 鈥痗ommunication among senior administrators and the university community.鈥濃��

Bowden will also serve the university by providing feedback from key constituents and helping with long-range鈥痯lanning. Cedarville is currently amid its most comprehensive fundraising campaign in the university鈥檚鈥�135-year history. To date, Cedarville has received financial commitments of $105.4 million toward its鈥�$125 million goal.鈥�

"My focus has always been to serve the Cedarville community in the鈥痓est way that I can,鈥� said Bowden. 鈥淚t鈥檚 truly an honor to serve at Cedarville because its mission fits鈥痺ith my personal belief of helping young people prepare for their life calling of ministry and鈥痵ervice.鈥濃��
